The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the schedule of matches for the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia this year. India has to play its first match in this tournament against Pakistan on 23 October. This match will be played at Melbourne Cricket Ground. India and Pakistan last played a World Cup match during the 2015 World Cup in Adelaide, Australia. The first 6 days of the tournament i.e. from October 16 to October 21 will be played against the first round of the tournament. After that the matches of Super 12 will start from 22nd October.
The eighth edition of the T20 World Cup will begin on October 16 and will be played at seven venues in Adelaide, Brisbane, Geelong, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. The final match will be played on November 13 at the MCG. Teams for Super 12 are divided into two groups. Group 1 currently consists of teams from England, Australia, New Zealand and Afghanistan. On the other hand, India, Pakistan, South Africa, and Bangladesh are in Group 2. Apart from these 8 teams, 4 more teams will reach the Super 12 after the result of the first round. Defending champions and hosts Australia will take on New Zealand on 22 October in the first match of Super 12. A total of 16 international teams will play 45 matches in this tournament.
The Indian cricket team will play its first match in the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia later this year against arch-rivals Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on 23 October. The ICC on Friday released the schedule of this tournament starting from 16 October, whose final will be on 13 November.

India’s matches in T20 World Cup
India has been placed in Group-2 in the T20 World Cup. Along with India, Bangladesh and South Africa are also included in this group. The Indian team will play its second match against the runners-up of Group I on October 27. After this, on October 30, India has to play its third match against South Africa. The match will be played at the Optus Stadium in Perth. India will then take the field against Bangladesh at the Oval in Adelaide on November 2. In the last group stage, they will take on the winning team of Group B at the MCG on 6 November.
India lost to Pakistan in the T20 World Cup in Dubai last year
This was India’s first defeat at the hands of Pakistan in a World Cup of any format. India will play their second match of Group II of the Super-12 in Sydney on October 27 from the qualifiers (runners-up of Group A). They will then take on South Africa in Perth on October 30 and Bangladesh at the Adelaide Oval on November 2.
The Indian team will play its last Super-12 match against the Group B-K winners at the MCG on November 6. The opening match of the first round will be played between 2014 champions Sri Lanka and Namibia at Cardinia Park Jilang on 16 October. Two other teams from Group A will qualify. Two-time champions West Indies will also play in the first round. They are placed in Group B along with Scotland and two qualifiers. The matches of this group will be held in Hobart. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super-12. The second round i.e. Super-12 will begin on October 22 with a match between defending champions and hosts Australia and last time runners-up New Zealand in Sydney. The semi-finals will be played at the Sydney and Adelaide Ovals on 9 and 10 November respectively. This will be the first time that the Adelaide Oval will host the World Cup semi-finals. The final match will be played on November 13 at the MCG.

Ticket sales will start from February 7
The sale of tickets for the World Cup matches will start from February 7. During this, the guidelines of Corona will have to be followed.
