Kanya Shiksha Pravesh Utsav 2023

On March 8, 2022, the Central Government announced to start of the Kanya Shiksha Pravesh Utsav. Through this scheme, education will be provided to all those girls who had to leave their education midway due to some reason. All such girls will be identified and efforts will be made to get them re-admitted in the school. This campaign will be operated by the Department of Women and Child Development and the Department of Education. Through this scheme, about 4 lakh 11 to 18-year-old girls will be provided education. Through this project, education will be provided to girls on the basis of existing schemes and programs such as Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, and National Education Policy.

Anganwadi workers will also be provided incentives for counseling and referral of beneficiaries. Efforts will be made to provide formal education to daughters through Kanya Shiksha Pravesh Utsav. In the past also such a scheme was being operated under which 11.88 lakh girls benefitted in the year 2018-19. But by 2021 this number has come down to 5.03 lakhs.

Purpose of Girl Education Entrance Festival

The main objective of the Kanya Shiksha Pravesh Utsav is to provide education to all those female students who have to leave their education midway for some reason. Efforts will be made to provide formal education to all the beneficiary girls through this scheme. This scheme will make the girls of the country strong and self-reliant. Apart from this, the standard of living of the girls of the country will also improve due to the operation of this scheme. The unemployment rate of the country will also come down through Kanya Shiksha Pravesh Utsav because more and more girls will be able to get employment after getting an education.

Benefits and features of Kanya Shiksha Pravesh Utsav 2023

The government launched a nationwide campaign called Kanya Shiksha Pravesh Utsav on the eve of International Women’s Day (March 8).
Launched by the Ministry of Women and Child Development in partnership with the Ministry of Education.
The scheme will fulfill the goal of the Right to Education Act which calls for bringing out-of-school girls back into the education system.
The campaign will be implemented as part of the BP project, with over 4,00,000 out-of-school adolescent girls as the primary beneficiaries.
The objective of the campaign is to bring back four lakh out-of-school girls in the age group of 11-14 years in the education system.
The campaign focuses on convergence and coordination among ministries, departments and states.
Since the enactment of the Right to Education Act (2009), the goal has been to bring back out-of-school girls into the education system.
Incentives will also be provided to Anganwadi workers for counseling and referral of beneficiaries.
