BJP’s Position in Tripura Election 2023
Even though the Bharatiya Janata Party had registered a historic victory in the last election, but this year the road is not going to be easy in Tripura Election 2023. Because in view of the dissatisfaction of the people, the Bharatiya Janata Party made Manik Shah the Chief Minister by removing the late Kumar Dev Dev. Obviously, the Bharatiya Janata Party must have seen dissatisfaction among the people somewhere, that’s why they made Manik Shah the Chief Minister in 2022.
By the way, the Bharatiya Janata Party has already given this message by removing the former CM that the one who does not work in his government will not remain in the post of CM. Now it has to be seen how much the voters there like these things.
Not only this, the problem for the Bharatiya Janata Party is that after Manik Shah was made the Chief Minister, many leaders distanced themselves. The same few BJP leaders have joined other party.
Tripura Assembly Election Current Status
The Tripura Legislative Assembly is currently ruled by the Bharatiya Janata Party, which has a total of 33 MLAs, their allies are IPFT’s four MLAs, Mahajot’s 16 MLAs, CPIM’s 15 MLAs and Congress’s one MLA.
Tripura Election Previous Assemblies Period
Tripura Election 2018
In Tripura Election 2018, BJP had won a total of 35 seats, before that BJP did not have any seats in Tripura which reached from 0 to 35 and they formed their government. Before this, Manik Sarkar ruled for 25 years.
In the assembly elections, BJP together with IPFT registered a total of 43 seats. Whereas CPM won 16 seats. At that time, due to the death of CPM candidate Rajendra Narayan Dev Verma, voting was not held in the Charilam seat. BJP got a total of 43% votes in the Tripura elections in the year 2018, which was much higher than in the previous elections. If we talk about the 2013 assembly elections, then the Bharatiya Janata Party got only 2% votes, in such a situation, the result of 2018 surprised everyone.
After getting a huge majority in the 2018 elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party made Pranali Kumar Dev the Chief Minister. In the year 2022, 5 Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs and 3 Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura MLAs resigned and left BJP. Out of these MLAs, 4 MLAs joined TIPRA and 3 joined Congress party. The same MLA joined the Trinamool Congress party.
