Under Skill India in collaboration with the Directorate General of Training (DGT) will organize Apprenticeship Mela across the country. This fair will be organized in partnership with the Directorate General of Training (DGT) at 700 different places in the country. The initiative aims to help hire over 1 lakh trainees while helping employers select the right talent. Apart from this, it has to be developed further through training and practice.

The event will see the participation of more than 4000 organizations from across the country, working in more than 30 sectors like Power, Retail, Telecom, IT/ITES, Electronics, Automotive, etc. Apart from this, interested youth will get an opportunity to join and get selected in more than 500 trades including welder, electrician, housekeeper, beautician, mechanic, etc. The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has also taken several initiatives to increase the number of apprentices hired by enterprises in the country. It aims to fill the gap in supply and demand of skilled workforce and meet the aspirations of Indian youth by getting on the job training and getting better employment opportunities. Students who have passed Class 12 Graduation, Skill Training Certificate holders, ITI students, Diploma holders and Graduates who have passed at least Class 5 are eligible to apply for the Apprenticeship Fair.
